Thetis: our latest nano-particle sizer

Cordouan Technologies presents THETIS™, a unique ultra-compact solution combining into the same instrument three types of measurements: Dynamic Light Scattering (DLS), Depolarized Dynamic Light Scattering (DDLS), and Static Light Scattering (SLS), with continuous multi-angles capabilities. THETIS™ also integrates our unique time resolved correlation technology for high-resolution real-time measurements. With these features, Thetis is the most versatile and powerful tool for the characterization of all types of nano-particle, isotropic and anisotropic, offering the broadest range of application.

Thétis

This instrument represents a new step in the DLS technique for nano-particle size analysis. For the very first time, an instrument allows to measure easily length and width of anisotropic nanoparticles in the colloidal suspension.

A NEW INSTRUMENT FROM CORDOUAN TECHNOLOGIES

Keywords : nanoparticles, nanoparticles size analyzer, Zeta potential analyzer, in situ measurements

Cordouan Technologies AMERIGO  presents its newest instrument, an innovative analyzer for the characterization of nanoparticle suspensions combining into the same instrument nanoparticle size, Zeta Potential and remote measurements. Based on state of the art version of Dynamic Light Scattering (DLS) and Laser Doppler Electrophoresis (LDE) techniques offering high resolution, accurate and rapid measurement.

This new achievement is a summary of the savoir faire of Cordouan Technologies. It inherits the capacity of time-resolved kinetics analysis, dynamic time slicing and remote measurements from VASCO KIN and more classical design and Zeta potential analysis from WALLIS.

Entirely designed and produced in France.

AN01-VASCO Kin – monitoring Protein aggregation in injectable

Aggregation of proteins and active principle ingredients (API) in injectable biopharmaceutical products remains a major concern impacting the stability and usability of a product. Indeed, Protein aggregation can occur during all stages of the lifetime of a protein therapeutic, including expression, refolding, purification,
sterilization, shipping, storage, and delivery processes [1, 2]. The mechanism of protein

aggregation is still not well understood; but it is known that certain manufacturing stages
like formulation composition, presence of microbial or vial contaminants during cell
culture, and storage influence the risk of chemical degradation, which increases the risk
of physical degradation and the formation of aggregates. In particular, it has been shown
that the storage container environment plays a role like in prefilled syringes for example
where leaking silicone oil from the rubber stopper, and glass delamination can induce
aggregates. In a context of more and more stringent international health regulations
about the control of biopharmaceutical products, the in-situ monitoring of the denaturation and degradation process of therapeutic proteins during production and storage can be a key competitive advantage for manufacturers and researchers

RELEASE OF CORDOUAN TECHNOLOGIES BRAND NEW NANOPARTICLE SIZE ANALYZER VASCO KIN™

CORDOUAN TECHNOLOGIES ANNOUNCES THE RELEASE OF VASCO KIN™ ITS BRAND NEW PARTICLE SIZE ANALYZER.

Keywords: nanoparticle, particle size analyzer, in situ measurement, kinetic study

The VASCO KIN™ is a new generation of nanoparticle size analyzer combining a unique time-resolved kinetic analysis capability with an optical fiber remote probe for in situ measurement. Based on an innovative proprietary Software Time-Resolved Correlation (STRC) technology, VASCO KIN™ is by far the most accurate and versatile particle size analyzer on the market today, opening the field for new and advanced applications in colloids sciences.

Thanks to its 10 years of experience and expertise in NPs characterization, Cordouan Technologies has chosen the best components & cutting-edge technologies for its VASCO KIN™ (Laser, APD, etc.) allowing the best analysis ever done on NPs size distribution in colloids in a minimum time (few seconds needed for great results).

At the heart of VASCO KIN™, STRC is a fast digital acquisition and data processing system which enables photon-counts storages from the very beginning to the end of the measurement and to transfer data to the embedded PC for continous correlation processing. Thanks to its brand new dedicated software NANO KIN®, it is then possible to build up, in real time, an astonishing accurate size distribution in just few seconds.

Data post-processing: At the end of an experiment, all data are recorded and stored into a timetable. Users can then post-process the data by selecting the appropriate time slots for correlation processing and size analysis, enabling to select the most relevant data (big particles scattering events suppression, no artificial/external influence during the experiment, etc.).

A unique “Time slicing” function allows to create discrete time window analysis with adjustable duration and delay. Building up, in a very accurate way, the Kinetics of an experiment can be done automatically by the NANO KIN® software in just a few clicks and a 2D colormap representation displays size distributions over time (see Figure 1).

Thanks to this technique, analysis of turbid samples, kinetics of fast chemical reaction, study of very small NPs in high dilution, dark and concentrated samples are getting very easy!

Major innovations & features

  • In situ & contactless optical fiber remote probe: small footprint, non-invasive
  • Proprietary Time-Resolved correlation for real time Kinetics
  • Frequency stabilized laser & artefact-free APD detector for ultra-fast measurement
  • New embedded software dedicated to kinetics analysis: NANO KIN®

Benefits

  • Versatile: can be adapted to various environments & configurations (glass capillaries, auto-clave & reactor, hermetically sealed vials, mili-fluidic device, etc.)
  • Measurement of diluted and/or subnanometer samples.
  • High resolution kinetic monitoring (time resolution: down to 200 ms)
  • No moving parts – easy maintenance, reliable
  • High throughput measurements
