Strategic partnerships and technological opportunities :

CORDOUAN TECHNOLOGIES is a young start-up that develops and markets a range of analysing instruments based on innovative and patented technology transfers. These transfers to small and medium sized companies result from privileged partnerships through collaboration contracts with well established Research & Development laboratories in which these technologies are invented.

The idea of founding CORDOUAN TECHNOLOGIES took shape in June 2005 following a meeting between eminent French scientific researchers and David Jacob, PhD in Physics from the Telecom industries and Mathias Le Pennec, an entrepreneur from Applied Optics. This project is an endeavour built upon complimentary skills and a common desire to transfer French technologies from research laboratories to industry.

Therefore, the first range of instruments being developed resulted from two distinct collaborations that actually started two years ago :

• With the French Petroleum Institute (www.ifp.fr) for the industrialisation of new measuring instruments dedicated to particle size and refractive index measurements for physicochemical analysis in difficult media (black and concentrated suspensions).
• With the optics laboratory of the French Atomic Energy Commission Pierrelatte (www.valrho.cea.fr for the development of a new generation of high resolution solution for wavefront sensor and beam instrument analysis dedicated to laser metrology.
